Do-Re-Mi Volunteer Selection Criteria
To uphold the highest standard of musical excellence, Do-Re-Mi carefully evaluates all volunteer applications through a merit-based selection process. Volunteer performers will be selected based on the following criteria:
Musical Proficiency
Performance level will be assessed using information provided in the application form, including documentation of musical training and achievements. Preference will be given to applicants who meet one or more of the following qualifications:
Have won top prizes in reputable music competitions at the regional, national, or international level.
Have been accepted into advanced music programs through competitive auditions (e.g., youth orchestras, chamber ensembles, music festivals, or camps).
Have passed high-level music examinations (e.g., ABRSM Grade 7 or higher, National Guild Auditions with commendation, or equivalent).
Demonstrate exceptional skill or accomplishment through other achievements, which will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Submit video recordings (e.g., YouTube or similar) that clearly demonstrate high-quality solo performance. These will be reviewed at the discretion of the selection committee.
Age and Maturity Consideration
Applicants will be evaluated within appropriate age groups to ensure fair comparison and suitability for live performance in a senior community setting.
Performers must demonstrate the maturity and stage presence necessary to engage respectfully with the audience and environment.
Availability and Commitment
Volunteers must be willing to commit to scheduled performances and arrive prepared and punctual.
Preference may be given to applicants who express flexibility in scheduling and interest in performing more than once.
Slot Allocation
In instances where multiple qualified applicants apply for the same performance opportunity, selection will prioritize the most advanced and experienced performers in order to maintain the quality of programming.
Applicants not selected for a specific opportunity may be considered for future performances.
